Hyderabad, also known as “ The city of Nawabs” is culturally a rich capital of state Telangana, India. The city has its own way to influence you with tales about its heritage and an ancient culture with its own idiosyncratic twist. Hyderabad, the city is embellished with royal architectural installations that proudly showcases the Nawabi atmosphere. Traditional yet urbane, that’s what best describes Hyderabad.

This was our first time in Hyderabad as travelers, and when you are visiting such bustling cities, it is important to make the right choices for your stay -cation. Choosing a hotel which is conveniently located, yet moderately price can need some research to do. And when you shortlist some, you start looking at other factors such as food, amenities and service that suit your personal needs and preferences.

After all our research, we chose to stay in Holiday Inn Express, Banjara Hills and it fit our search for several reasons. Holiday Inn Express is a mid-priced hotel chain comprising of 14 properties spread across tier 1 and tier 2 cities of India and in other locations. Being part of the Inter Continental Hotels Group, it provides some of the best curated services for solo, small family and business travelers on a budget.
Why Choose Holiday Inn Express?
Location:
As soon as we landed in Hyderabad, we were driven to the hotel and within 45 mins, we reached at hotel. Located in the heart of the city, it is close to all the attractions you would probably want to see when you are in Hyderabad.

This means, you will save lot of time in travelling within the city to avoid the crazy traffic and reach at the attractions within no time. The hotel is a 7-minute walk from City Centre Mall and within 10 kms of city’s tourist attractions. It even has a large departmental store right next door.
Rooms:
The Hotel features about 170 rooms categorized as below which are perfect to stay for a couple of nights:
- Superior rooms (good for small family)
- Superior Twin rooms
- Superior Queen rooms
- Queen room

We were staying in the Superior room. Though the room is compact for a family of 3, it had everything starting from a TV, mini bar, study table, electronic safe, and even a smart phone/clock .

It has separate bathroom and toilet, all smartly designed to fit into a small room, yet make the room look big.
Food:
All room rates are inclusive of an eat-all-you-can buffet breakfast. The spread is just enough to fill your tummy on the go. The visually enchanting restaurant area treats your senses to a splash of colors and a range of aromas to start your day with a spurt of energy.

While it is a buffet, the servers are always there to help you out. The Ala-Carte menu is quite a spread for quick bites and light meals. The unique part about the breakfast is that you are allowed to take-away stuff for on-the-go munching.

This helped us quite a bit, specially the fruits, tetra packs and yogurt packs which are convenient to carry along.
Amenities:
The hotel provides free wi-fi to all guests. We personally liked the highchairs in the restaurant to work on our laptops. There is a small gymnasium area for a quick work-out on-the-go.

Hotel rooms are equipped with everything that you would ever need from soap and toiletries to emergency lights, tea/coffee and writing pads. In fact, we couldn’t think of any basic amenity which was not present there.

The hotel has a laundry area equipped with a line of washing machines and an ironing board. They also provide paid laundry services. The parking for your vehicle is free too which is important as you would otherwise not find a place to park in the idle of the city.

We loved the in-room dining service which provides for all day snacking and dining in the comfort of your own room.
Service:
When you talk about service, you want to think what someone did to ensure you are at ease throughout your stay. Well, we must say that every small bit of the Holiday Inn Express experience is designed to create delightful comfort for an on-the-go staycation.

The prompt check-in/out experience coupled with extremely polite guest relation officers who give your stay a personal touch is a must to mention. We specially remember a deaf person who would promptly clear vacated tables for new guests to occupy quickly. #respect to #HIEX for providing the employment opportunity. The wonderfully done minimalistic signage across the hotel is an experience by itself.
To conclude, every aspect of our stay at HIEX, Banjara Hills was underlined by one common thing – how to service an on-the-go customer in the best possible non obtrusive manner. We highly recommend you should consider Holiday Inn Express as your stay option when you travel to Hyderabad.
